Saia traces its roots to 1924, when Louis Saia Sr. began hauling freight in Houma, Louisiana. From those Gulf-Coast beginnings it grew into one of the most recognizable national less-than-truckload carriers in the country, now headquartered in Johns Creek, Georgia.
